Broussard DFA'd
The Rangers have designated first baseman Ben Broussard for assignment and optioned lefthander A.J. Murray to AAA, activating lefthander Kason Gabbard and third baseman Travis Metcalf from the disabled list.
Texas has 10 days to trade, release, or get Broussard through waivers and outright him to the minor leagues -- although I believe he has enough service time that he could decline an outright assignment. A release seems like the most likely eventuality.
