As a fan of a team that lost 95 times in 2014 and needed a late-season hot streak to avoid claiming baseball’s worst record, it would ring fairly hollow to note that the juggernaut Angels and A’s won as many playoff games as Texas did this year.
It would be unbecoming to point out that the team whose former Ranger wished 0-162 on Texas just went 0-3 in the playoffs itself, despite sending the last three AL Cy Young winners to the mound to start those three games.
Looking to see how former Rangers whose seasons ended this weekend fared at the plate or on the mound: Not cool, even limiting your focus to those who were less productive than David Freese’s 1 for 8.
