Now, and always, my favorite date on the sports calendar.
Baseball ends tonight.
Just like it did two years ago, to the day.
Two years ago: One-one, one, two-three. Something mathematically pleasing about it.
Not to mention emotionally overwhelming, more than just a bit.
Two years ago, on this date, I woke up 30 minutes southeast of Chase Field, following a second straight exhilarating night in that downtown Phoenix ballpark, and published this, a long-awaited chance to write a “1 Thing” story. The Rangers were a single win away.
