The definition of “cyber” is “of, relating to, or characteristic of the culture of computers, information technology, and virtual reality.”
It’s Cyber Monday, but instead of asking you to go online and buy a Newberg Report book today to observe this artificial, commercial holiday, I want to go in a different direction that has nothing to do with the e-world, and sets aside, if momentarily, today’s inundating call to shopaholic action.
If you were planning to buy a book today, or not, maybe hug someone you love instead, or be decent to those who have earned your decency. And to those who haven’t.
You may not know the name Chris Lyngos, but he spent 23 years with the Rangers, 17 of them as Director of Travel, making the lives of hundreds of people whose names you’re very familiar with a whole lot easier. That’s a pretty worthy thing.
Chris passed away on Tuesday, at age 49. He was a good dude.
Be decent. Treat folks well.
Rest in peace, Chris.
