One . . . and done?
It’s been the headline for too many Rangers games. Maybe the season, too.
The Rangers came home after a disappointing set of three in Boston, poised to face the Twins, who’d lost 12 of 18 and were a 13-21 team on the road. They’d even get a day off in the middle of the three-gamer.
And then?
The Rangers score seven runs in the series.
While the Twins score nine . . .
. . . in the first inning.
This is no longer solely an offense problem, 2025-style. The starting pitching isn’t the same. The defense isn’t the same. And the offense, even if a tick closer to league average, is not very good at playing from behind. The Rangers have a 26-8 record when scoring first, 9-31 when they don’t.
