Overthinking Tanner Scheppers's next assignment.
According to the Rangers, Oklahoma City righthander Tanner Scheppers is not only set to come off the seven-day AAA disabled list, with his left hamstring strain no longer an issue, but he's also slated to make his first professional start on Sunday, when the RedHawks host Albuquerque. The organization had been methodically ramping his pitch counts up, and the conversion to starter is about to get underway. As Oklahoma City kicks off a stretch of 20 straight games tonight without a day off, assuming the club keeps him in rotation, Scheppers will make his second start on June 18 in Nashville, and his third on June 23 in New Orleans. Rich Harden starts for Texas in Milwaukee tomorrow night. Due to Monday's off-day, his next start will be June 17 in Florida. His next start after that, with yet another off-day the following Monday? At home against Pittsburgh. On June 23. Just sayin'.
