Rank.
The Arizona League champion Rangers squad had five of the 13-team circuit’s top 12 prospects this summer, according to Baseball America’s rankings, which were based on a combination of player performance and discussions with scouts and AZL managers.
Third baseman Joey Gallo was the league’s number three prospect. Center fielder Lewis Brinson was number six. Righthander C.J. Edwards was number eight, right fielder Nomar Mazara was number 11, and first baseman Ronald Guzman was number 12.
BA ranks the Northwest League’s top 20 prospects tomorrow. Edwards is probably the only legitimate Spokane candidate.
