Things are not good.
For the nearly 30 years I’ve spent at a keyboard doing this thing, I’ve leaned into optimism. Not as a bit, but because I want that — I need that — from the sports and the teams I care about. That’s why. Full stop.
This stretch of nine, with Texas visiting the teams with the three worst records in baseball, has started with a two-game thud.
Looks like I need to bring back a few of the categories I ran for much of last season’s Hops.
