Sunday hops, 7-20-25.
A weekly compendium emptying the bench, with Rangers developments, rumors, and takes — and yes, a little TROT COFFEY.
So the Rangers have won five of six against the competitive Angels and the division-leading Astros and Tigers, with the one loss a walkoff defeat in Houston that should have gone the other way.
And the two wins to start this Detroit series were one elevated Jacob Webb changeup away from being back-to-back shutouts of the team with the most wins in the Major Leagues and third-most productive offense in the American League.
Two two games, incidentally, were started by Patrick Corbin and Kumar Rocker, neither of whom was penciled into the rotation as spring training began.
Jacob Latz gets the ball tonight in place of Nathan Eovaldi, whose back tightened up pregame yesterday. And I’m not betting against anything.
On to this week’s very busy Hops.
