As the Rangers zeroed in further on which of their minor-league prospects they plan to add to the 40-man roster by this Tuesday’s deadline — to ensure that they aren’t lost to another team in next month’s Rule 5 Draft — they got things rolling by targeting one whose six seasons with another organization weren’t enough to convince that team to make the same decision on him.
