The return of The Conundrum: Part 1.

Let’s start revising the Rangers roster, with an eye toward 2026.

So here we are.

In the first 20 of the 21 season-ending Bound Editions I put together back in the day, I plugged in a 6,000-word chapter toward the front titled:

The routine was locked in. I would sit down to write that chapter each year in October (or, in a couple awesome years, November), as the process of putting together the book-only features just needed to be finished by Thanksgiving.

It just made sense to me to shift gears that way: season ends, roll the sleeves up, work on another year’s book, laying down a vision of how the roster might be set up by late November to tackle the offseason.

I didn’t feel like waiting this year.
