On Thursday, the Rangers were treated to a traditional and amazingly cool visit with the President of the United States. Ceremonially, if not symbolically, the celebration in the East Room of the White House closed the book on the organization’s 2023 World Series championship season.
The day before that, though hindsight may eventually allow us to view it differently, the team appeared to be lowering the cover on the sequel.
Back in May, with the Rangers in defense of their World Series title, I wrote a story titled “The thing I didn’t want to think.”
This is different.
Slightly.
They’re both about timing.
