Two things.
Two quick things, the first of which I wanted to pass along because a handful of you have asked in the last few days.
Scott Lucas’s minor league reports aren’t going anywhere. He’s headed to spring training before long, and as always will have several reports before the season begins — and once the minor league schedules kick off at the beginning of April, he’ll send daily reports out to this mailing list as long as the Rangers’ farm clubs are playing. That won’t change.
As for my content on The Athletic, my prospect-ranking series opens this morning with a look at the top six righthanders in the Rangers system — and The Athletic has decided to unlock this one and put it in front of the paywall. Everyone can read it. Free of charge, and no subscription needed.
Something I’ve added to my standard prospect rankings is a comment on each player from a Rangers front office or scouting/player development official.
Today’s exit velo that follows the prospect rankings includes camp notes and observations on Jurickson Profar, Drew Robinson, Rougned Odor, and Tim Lincecum.
If you’re so inclined after reading the story, there’s a link at the top of it to the special for Newberg Report readers — a free seven-day trial, followed by 25 percent off of the annual plan (http://theathletic.com/newbergreport).
Come check out today’s story — and let’s toss around the rankings in the Comments section.
